YTB Gets A Nod From CBS Business Network

YTB got a nod from the CBS Business Network recently in an article called, What Kind Of Deception Do Your Customers Dislike The Most?

Imagine CBS making this type of claim? Wasn't CBS one of the "national new networks" that was covering the 2008 Convention and Lady Liberty?

The article starts out:

Duping customers is so routine, it almost goes unnoticed in today’s 24/7 news cycle.

At YTB/Zam Zuu It Is The Blind Leading The Blind

This is the thing that is so frustrating to the legitimate travel professionals in the world. Travel Weekly names Kim Sorensen as one of the most influential people in travel and it is responses like this that make one shake their head. And then another "travel agent" just continues with the misinformation.

Kim--Sandals does not have properties on Grand Cayman nor do they have a property in the Turks & Caicos--there is a Beaches but it is not "ultra romantic" and not a top choice for a destination wedding.

Mazie--SuperClubs does NOT have ANY resorts on Turks & Caicos or Grand Cayman. As for Breezes being a good "ultra romantic" resort, it is up for opinion, but there are many more that are better than those two resorts. Unfortunately SuperClubs sunsetted the Grand Lido properties--they may have been an option.

But seriously, how confident can a consumer be when there is such blatant misinformation being spread?

YTB Says Sayonara To Canada

YTB has sold off its Canadian operations.

The deal was announced yesterday based on a May 1, transaction.  The agreement looks complex on the surface with YTB actually paying the acquiring entity per associate and the entity paying YTB back some money per associate.

I will dig into the agreement and offer an opinion. One thing is certain, that this is yet another move away from travel for YTB as they focus more on the potions and lotions.
